As Love Is Blind Season 2 unfolds in a three-part series, invested fans have begun combing through the participants’ social media, hoping to find a clue regarding their current relationship status. However, the contestants usually wait before revealing any spoilers. Producer Chris Coelen answers if a mandate prohibiting the Love Is Blind couples from leaving hints on their social media.
In a February 2022 interview with The Los Angeles Times, producer Chris Coelen confirmed the company has no mandate in place prohibiting the Love Is Blind participants from posting relationship spoilers to their social media.
While the team suggests holding off from uploading clues, it won’t sue the contestant if they do. Additionally, those who don’t walk away from the experiment engaged are still allowed to join dating apps between filming and the premiere of the season.
Acknowledging that “pretty much every show has spoilers at this point” before its release, the team still hasn’t put a social media mandate in place.
“People are going to do what they’re going to do,” he noted. “But I think generally people buy into the idea that this is something that they do not want to spoil for the audience.”
‘Love Is Blind’ producer also revealed two more couples got engaged off-camera in season 2
Coelen also spoke about Love Is Blind Season 2 couples, Joey Miller and Caitlin McKee and Kara Williams and Jason Beaumont, who got engaged in the pod but weren’t selected as the final six the show wanted to follow.
Miller is included in the first episode speaking about his first date in the pods and working out with a couple of the guys, while McKee seemingly isn’t featured at all.
Additionally, Williams had a filmed conversation with Shayne Jensen in which she asked about his career, assuming his success had something to do with his looks. The four are otherwise rarely featured in the reality series, but they also walked away engaged after the 10 days of speed-dating.
It isn’t clear why their journeys weren’t chosen to continue documenting, but Coelen noted their decisions come down to “how interesting do we think they are, and what’s the mix of stories?”
Couples confirmed off-camera engagement and revealed current relationship status
Miller and McKee posted a series of pictures featuring the couple hanging out around town following their engagement to their Instagram accounts after the Feb. 13 batch of episodes aired.
They explained they connected early in the pods, and he proposed before laying eyes on her. The engaged couple then spent several months together, traveling and meeting each other’s families until eventually calling it quits before making it down the aisle.
Around the same time, Beaumont updated his followers on his success on the show, explaining he walked away from it engaged to Williams. Although the couple has since split, he believes their connection was “authentic” and thanked her for helping him become more “vulnerable.”
Williams hasn’t posted about their relationship, and it seems they have blocked each other on Instagram. Love Is Blind Season 2 finale premieres Feb. 25, 2022, on Netflix.
